We all know for any kind of growth or personal development requires a very fundamental skill and that is Learning. Learning is the process which widens our horizons, enhances our knowledge, keeps us up to date with the current world. A good study habit can enhance our learning process which eventually help us to do better in all spheres of life.

Challenges

There are many queries which we receive from parents every day. The most common are:

  • My child does not perform good in class
  • His/Her marks are decreasing class after class
  • He/She does not show interest in studies.
  • He/She is not able to follow study schedule.
  • He/She often forgets what she has learned in the school or coaching.

All parents worry about their children. This is a common practice among most of the parents. The worry is a little harder to manage when it comes to the academic excellence. The root cause is that at a very early stage they start comparing their child with the children of their peer/friends’ group without understanding that every child is unique in itself. He/she has his/her own time, pace and ability to learn. One child may perform exceptionally high in one activity but not in others.

As rightly said by Albert Einstein

Know the current system

In our education system, a student’s level of intelligence is said to be reflected by the grades that one attains.

When a student gets good marks, it is assumed that he is very intelligent, and if not, the student would most likely is less learned. Nevertheless, there are number of reasons that significantly affect the score of every student such as the IQ level, study habits, social status, environment, etc. But, as per experts in the learning process the study habits of the students play crucial role in their performance scholastically.

Hence, being a parent, it has become mandatory for you to encourage your children to develop good study habits from an early age. Help your child develop a lifelong love for learning by providing suitable and organized environment so that he will feel positive about the studies. Additionally, using a correct technique can ignite the spirit of learning in the child, which can help him excel in his academic endeavors.

What parents can do?

After knowing the importance of study habits every parent would like to do his best to develop good study habits in their child. But, the major challenge one can face is to analyze what good habits your child is already following and what more he should do. What learning style contributes the most in bringing their performance at par with their true potential. For example, some students understand things better when they visualize it, some may like to read aloud to understand. Some learn by practical experiments; some learn while they study in isolation. Each student has unique learning style and they learn better with it.

After years of study in child psychology and Indian pedagogy system experts at SOF came out with a very effective method which will help your child in his academic endeavors.
