Know the IGKO syllabus and get IGKO sample papers here. We will release the study plans for SOF Olympiads: IGKO, IEO, NSO, ICSO, IMO, ISSO, ICO and IHO. Today we will share some expert opinions on how to prepare for IGKO, the study plan, and strategies.

SOF IGKO

How to Prepare for IGKO?

1. IGKO Syllabus is Universal

After going through the syllabus given by SOF for IGKO, you will learn that the syllabus covers the general topics which are studied in the School curricula such as Plants and Animals, Earth and Its Environment, Science, and Technology, Universe India and the World, Social Studies, Language and Literature, and Life Skills. Topics like Entertainment, Sports, and Current Affairs are the ones that can be explicitly learned from external sources, like Newspapers, Magazines, and audio-video sources on Television. For Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, a practice of such questions from the MTG Reasoning book is mandatory.

This is to emphasize that the syllabus is well-covered in students’ daily studies and they are not required to go out of the way to learn something new for the exam. However, the practice needs time and effort. Now students should start taking out time from their routine to practice for the IGKO questions from IGKO Workbooks. They should also get familiar with the exam pattern by practicing from Level 1 Question Paper.

2. Understand the IGKO Exam Pattern and Difficulty level first

The questions asked in the exam are age-appropriate, so students should first see what is the level of a particular question given in the Workbook and understand what will be asked in the exam. For example, students of class 4 will be asked about the inventors of the world’s the first successful airplane and not about the scientists who proposed the laws of electrolysis. The questions from current affairs will also be age-appropriate. Here’s parents should play the key role and filter the extra information which is beyond the cognitive level of their children.

The best way of knowing the IGKO exam pattern and the difficulty level is through solving the IGKO Previous Years Papers. Not only would they familiarize you with the question typologies but also eliminate the element of surprise and fear from your preparation. If you are thorough enough with the IGKO question papers from the past years then you would be prepared for anything and also you would have a better idea of how to attempt the questions in the actual IGKO exam. Thus, do not skip on solving MTG’s IGKO Previous Years Papers which contains 10 IGKO previous year papers, detailed solutions, 2 mock test papers, and OMR sheets for hands-on practice.

3. Read from the Authentic Resources to Boost your Chances

The resources available for IGKO are limited and authenticity does matter to prepare in the right direction. This is why it is advised to prepare from MTG IGKO Workbooks, Learning & Knowing books (for Classes 1 to 8), and Level 1 Question Papers (Set A & B). Your preparation should include IGKO DOPS (Daily Online Practice Sets), a 30-Day Online Programme for classes 1 to 10, in which you can assess 25 Daily Practice Sets, 3 Term Tests, and 3 Mock Tests. You will get a daily booster dose for IGKO, making your preparation active and effective.

Apart from this, you can also get the IGKO Online Test Package, which has Chapter-wise Test Banks, (MCQs), and 6 Previous Years’ Papers. (Comprising both sets of SOF-IGKO), IGKO Daily Online Practice Sets, (25 SETS OF Daily Online Practice Questions), IGKO DOPS Worksheets. (4-Weekly Term Tests + 3 Practice Mock Tests) It will be an all-inclusive deal and package which will prepare you completely.

4. Read the newspaper, do group learning, mark important information in books

Unlike other SOF Olympiads, the IGKO examination will be from the present class only. Questions are framed age-specific, and suitable for the target audience. Read newspaper daily, solve practice exercises, and IGKO previous year papers. Do group discussions on topics related to moral values, social skills, ethical issues, team spirit, and more. Make your own notes, take newspaper cutting and paste them into a diary, and highlight the information given in your books on other subjects such as EVS, Science, Social Studies, GK, English, and Math which are likely to be asked in the IGKO exam.

Class 5 to 10 students must practice Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Questions from the MTG Reasoning Workbook to get the direct benefit of solving exam-specific exercises. Students who are also appearing in other SOF Olympiads can simultaneously study for that exam and IGKO as the IGKO syllabus covers a range of subjects and topics as mentioned above. So, preparing for IGKO comes naturally and with not-so-much effort.

5. Make Your Own Study Plan

It is essential to make a timetable for your studies, whether it is for SOF Olympiads or School studies. For IGKO, children should devote some time to newspaper reading and solving GK exercises. Students can spread their study time throughout the day, for example in the morning they can read the newspaper, in school time they can have a group discussion about any selected topic about life skills with their friends, and in the evening they can practice solving questions from general awareness and Achievers section.

We are giving a study plan for SOF Olympiads. Below you can find a planner for IGKO. Following this study plan will suffice the preparation needed for IGKO. Don’t forget to get yourself enrolled in IGKO DOPS (Daily Online Practice Sets) for regular and daily practicing.
