On May 5th, The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, NEET 2019, was successfully conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for nearly 1 lakh MBBS and BDS seats across various centers in India. The current number of seats available through NEET 2019 for MBBS course is 63,985. Around 15.19 lakh aspirants have registered for NEET 2019 exam, while only 13,26,725 candidates appeared for exam in 2018. Feedback of candidates who took the offline exam was the paper was between easy to moderate level with most questions were based on NCERT text books and Biology was the easiest of all the three sections. NEET 2019 Paper Analysis
The NEET 2019 question paper was moderate in difficulty level. The paper was a bit lengthy and time taking as there were many questions with multiple statements and match the columns type. However, the pattern was totally uniform as no particular chapter was given extra weightage. More than 50% questions were directly asked from NCERT textbooks. The paper was easy as compared to the NEET 2018. The Chemistry and Physics were moderately lengthy but of medium level while Biology was comparatively easier. Compared to Zoology, Botany was relatively easy.

Physics Section
The NEET Physics is usually considered to be the toughest out of the three subjects. In 2019, Physics section was of moderate level. With a greater number of tricky and numerical questions, Physics was lengthy and more difficult than the other two sections. According to our expert’s analysis, about 50% questions were conceptual and formula-based, and so they were easy. From the remaining, 10 questions were medium and 10 questions were difficult. Physics section had more questions from the syllabus of class XII than class XI. Total 22 questions were asked from the class XI and 23 questions were asked from the class XII syllabus.
The high-weightage chapters, asking 3 or more questions, are: Kinematics, Work, Energy and Power, Properties of Bulk Matter, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism and Optics.

Chemistry Section
According to the experts, the section of Chemistry was of easy in comparison to last year. All the numerical questions were formula-based. Out of total 45 questions, 14 were easy, 22 were medium and the remaining 9 questions were Difficult.
Chemistry section had questions from Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. 19 questions from Inorganic Chemistry, 15 from Physical Chemistry, 11 from Organic Chemistry. Chemistry section had covered more questions from class 11th. Out of total 45 questions, 24 were asked from class XI and rest 21 questions were from Class XII curriculum.

Biology Section
Biology section was the easiest but lengthy-to-read factual and conceptual questions. Over 80% of questions were based on NCERT books, but a few questions (approx. 3-4) were slightly confusing and were not. In NEET 2019, 30 questions were Easy, 50 questions were Medium and 10 questions were Difficult. The biology section covered equal number of questions from class 11th and 12th. 45 questions were from class XI and 45 were from class XII in the paper.
The high-weightage chapters, asking 4 or more questions, are: Cell – The Unit of Life, Biomolecules, Principles of Inheritance and Variation, Molecular Basis of Inheritance, Evolution, Human Health and Diseases, Microbes in Human Welfare and Environmental Issues.
