NEET 2019 Dress Code Rules & Exam Day Instructions- Avoid Chaos on D-Day

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which recently released the admit cards for NEET 2019ย exam, has issued some special guidelines for students regarding the dress code. The dress code refers to the proper attire which should be worn by male and female candidates while appearing for NEET exam. NEET 2019 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2019 from 2 to 5 pm. Candidates are strictly advised to read all the below listed rules/regulations, dress code, barred items list set by the NTA authority before appearing in the exam.

New Rules and Regulation

The NTA have decided to implement strict dress code pattern to avoid irregularities, malpractices or cheating during the exam. If a candidate fails to follow these rules/dress code, he/ she will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Dress Code for NEET 2019

Here is all you need to know and follow while appearing for the NEET 2019 exam:

  • Candidates should wear light half sleeves clothes not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc. with Salwar/Trouser.
  • Candidates should wear Slippers not shoes.

The NEET 2019 guidelines propose the separate dress code for male and female as per the notice issued by the Directive of Honorable Supreme Court under NTA

Dress Code for Male Candidates

Allowed

  • Candidates should wear only light clothes like Shirt having half sleeves only with trouser.
  • The button of shirt should be of medium size.
  • Wear only slippers or sandals.

Not Allowed

  • No candidates are allowed to wear kurta Pajamas.
  • Shirt or T- shirt button in bigger size are not allowed.
  • Shoes are not allowed.
  • No shirt or T-shirt with full sleeves

Dress Code for Female Candidates

Allowed

  • Female candidates should wear light clothes.
  • Wear salwar and half โ€“ sleeves kameez with small size button.
  • Wear slippers or sandals having low heels.
  • Muslim applicants can wear traditional dress like Hijab/Burqa but they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time e. 12:30 PM for proper frisking.

Not Allowed

  • Clothes should not have big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc.
  • No candidates should be wearing ornaments like a ring, earrings, bangle, nose-pin, chain/necklace, or any kind of jewelry.
  • Hair Clip, Big Rubber Bands, Bracelets, Bangles etc. are not allowed.

What Allowed To Carry In Examination Hall?

Only two things are allowed to carry inside the examination hall.

  1. Admit card with a passport size photograph affixed on it.
  2. One passport sized photograph which is required to be affixed on the attendance sheet.

Things Not Allowed In Examination Hall Barred Items

It is very important for the candidates to know the things that have to be avoided in the examination hall.

  • No stationery items, like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner etc.
  • No communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.
  • No Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap etc.
  • No wristwatch, Bracelet, Camera, Bluetooth device, metallic item etc.
  • No eatable item opened or packed, water bottle etc.

Important Note:

  • No arrangement will be made at the centres for keeping any articles/items belonging to the candidates.
  • In case any candidate is found in possession of any of the barred items inside the centre, action will be taken against the candidate in accordance with the relevant provisions.
  • In case, candidates are coming in customary dress like HIJAB/BURQA for appearing in the examination, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time e. 12:30 PM, so that they could be frisked properly.

NEET 2019 Exam Day Instructions

  • Must carry the admit card to the exam hall
  • Must reach the exam center much before the exam time; candidates won’t be allowed to enter the exam hall after 1.30 pm.
  • Must carry “downloaded admit card and with proforma which is an attachment of Admit Card with Post Card Size Photograph duly affixed on it”
  • Must not carry anything to the exam hall except admit card and photographs
  • Must check the test booklet properly (ensure the page number as mentioned on the cover page)
  • Must not carry any of the barred items to the exam hall (details are given above)
  • Must sign and give finger impressions on the attendance sheet
  • Must ensure that they have signed twice on the attendance sheet
  • Must fill up the test booklet using ball point pen
  • Must match the codes of the test booklet and answer sheet before starting
  • Must fill the answer sheet and mark the responses using blue/ black ball point pen
  • Must answer carefully as changing an answer is not allowed
  • Must do all rough work on Test Booklet, only
  • Candidates must preserve the Admit Cards till their admission in MBBS/BDS Course.

All the above-mentioned points should be followed mandatorily by all the test-takers since it will help them clear the frisking procedure without any hassle on the D-Day.
